Directives for legal guidelines relating to biocidal preparations 98/8/EC (MANUAL OF DECISIONS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF DIRECTIVE 98/8/EC CONCERNING THE PLACING ON THE MARKET OF BIOCIDAL PRODUCTS) concerning the properties of titanium dioxide and excepting them from the list of biocidal materials are covered in chapter 2.3.13.
Technical standardization
Technical standardization in the area of photocatalytic materials and photocatalysis on the international level is overseen by the ISO/TC 229 Technical Committee on Nanotechnology and Working Group 37 of ISO/TC 206 Fine Ceramics on Testing Methods for Photocatalytic Materials; and on the European level by the CEN/TC 352 Technical Committee on Nanotechnology and CEN/TC 386 on Photocatalysis. ISO/TC 229 was established in 2005, ISO/TC 206/WG 37 in 2002, CEN/TC 352 in 2005 and CEN/TC 386 in 2008.
On the national level (Czech Republic) the TNK 144 Technical Committee on Nanotechnology was established in 2008, and now has about 25 members, chiefly representing universities, research instututions and state administrative bodies.
